Schlüter-DITRA-DRAIN 8 consists of an impact resistant polyethylene foil with a special truncated stud structure on one side and polypropylene filter webbing laminated to both sides. At 10mm thick, it comes in a 12.5m² x 1m roll.

 

Application

  • Designed for exterior use: DITRA-DRAIN 8 was specifically developed for outdoor applications such as stairs, balconies and terrace areas with long drainage paths
  • Bonds cementitious tile adhesive: The filter webbing on the underside facilitates the bonding of the cementitious tile adhesive, which is applied with a notched trowel (recommended: 3 x 3 mm or 4 x 4 mm) to DITRA-DRAIN 8. It is important that DITRA-DRAIN 8 is fully embedded in the adhesive.
  • Uncoupling and drainage layer: Serves as a permanently effective passive capillary drainage mat, whilst ensuring the covering and substrate is uncoupled to neutralise any differential movement stresses between them
